AID TRANSPARENCY (AT) is a regional non-governmental organization based in Dakar, Senegal. It is created in response to the overwhelming need for improved governance and development delivery services as well as innovative ways for tackling development issues, strategies and operations in Africa.

AT’s mission is:

-  to monitor development assistance and contribute to the observance of transparency, fairness and the principles and ideals of democratic development in Africa.

    * to promote awareness of and adherence to the principles of people-centered development.
    * to build the capacity of African non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), researchers and advocates to participate in social and economic policy and governance issues through research, training, information dissemination and advocacy.
    * To create opportunities for governmental and non-governmental organizations to build assets according to the principles of self-reliance and non-hegemonic cooperation.
    * To publicize violations of people’s rights to a fair delivery of international development assistance and access to relevant information on and independent evaluation of aid. In order to fulfill such a mandate Aid Transparency shall :
    * Be impartial with regard to states’, organizations’ or individuals’ particular stance on aid as it relates to human rights, democracy and development.
    * Build support for and alliances with organizations pursuing the same goals as well as with all relevant bilateral, multilateral and national parties.
    * Provide professional and legal assistance to organizations, states and communities concerned with fair, equitable and transparent delivery and implementation of aid they have received or will receive
